Chapter 104: Dance Hall
by PotatoUnder the guidance of Nishino Nagatoshi, the group arrived at a large dance hall.
In the noisy environment with blaring music, even trying to speak required shouting. Noticing that the atmosphere seemed to be bothering Masashi, Kurata Ryoko specifically found a quieter spot for them to sit.
“What would you like?” A seductive bunny girl came over and asked after they had just sat down.
The Nishino brothers exchanged glances, and Nishino Nagatoshi said to the bunny girl, “A dozen beers, some snacks, and a bottle of white liquor.”
Masashi glanced at their expressions and immediately understood their intentions. He suddenly called the bunny girl who was about to leave, saying, “Please bring two cups of juice as well.”
Hearing that Masashi wanted juice, Nishino Nagatoshi laughed, “Masashi, do you only drink juice?”
Masashi looked at them indifferently, “The juice is for Aiko and Murashima. In places like this, it’s better for girls not to get drunk.”
At Masashi’s words, the Nishino brothers’ expressions darkened, and Nishino Nagatoshi shot him a glare.
Sensing the hostility from the brothers, Kurata Ryoko quickly intervened, “Let’s go out and dance. Since we’re at a dance hall, we can’t just sit here, right?” She said as she stood up, pulling Nishino Nagatoshi with her.
“Aiko, Murashima, let’s go dance!” Nishino Nagatoshi called to the two girls.
“Sorry, I just want to sit for a bit,” Aiko said coolly.
“Come on, since we’re already here, just go have some fun. If anything happens, call me right away,” Masashi said to Aiko.
“Yeah, go dance. It’ll be more fun with more people,” Nishino Nagatoshi said, thinking that Masashi’s advice was the only good thing he’d said all night.
Aiko hesitated, but after seeing Masashi’s encouraging glance, she slowly stood up.
Once they had all left, Masashi casually opened the bottle of white liquor that had been brought over. After pouring himself a drink, he gazed at the dance floor, sipping slowly.
A young man, calmly sitting in the noisy dance hall, quietly drinking his drink. From a distance, it gave off a sense of loneliness, as if he were out of place. But the young man enjoyed this strange feeling of being the only one sober in a sea of sins.
“Hey, handsome, can you buy me a drink?”
Unfortunately, after a while, a flirtatious voice interrupted the young man’s thoughts.
Glancing at the woman, who had a somewhat attractive appearance, the young man said lightly, “Sorry, this seat is taken.”
The woman wanted to say something more, but when she looked into his eyes, she found herself unable to speak.
Seeing her leave, the young man returned his gaze to the dance floor and continued drinking.
“Masashi, who was that woman?” Aiko hurried back, asking as soon as she saw the woman leave. Murashima and the Nishino brothers followed behind her.
“Nothing. Just passing by. Why did you come back so soon?” Masashi asked, setting his drink down.
“Hmph, I was worried if I didn’t come back, those women would take you away,” Aiko said, frowning.
“Don’t worry, those women only like handsome guys. They wouldn’t even look at someone like me,” Masashi said self-deprecatingly.
“Anyway, I don’t care. I’m staying with you tonight,” Aiko said, sitting down next to him.
Masashi smiled but didn’t say anything, continuing to take a sip of his drink.
The Nishino brothers could only look at him with resentful eyes as Aiko sat tightly next to him.
Soon, everyone returned. As they drank beer, they shared funny stories from their school days. Since Kurata Ryoko was the only university student present, she had the most interesting stories to share, and soon everyone was eagerly listening to her.
“Look, that’s the woman from the funeral,” suddenly said Kamikawa Hiromi, interrupting the conversation.
“Which woman?” Her boyfriend asked, a bit confused.
At this moment, the five people who had attended the funeral recognized the woman she was referring to. She was the late Gennai Taro’s mistress.
The woman was sitting in a dark corner, sipping her drink, with two men in their thirties beside her. They kept pouring her drinks and talking to her, appearing very familiar with one another.
“That woman really is a slut. She just attended her lover’s funeral today, and now she’s already hitting on other men,” Kamikawa Hiromi sneered.
“I didn’t expect to see her here. She looks like she’s about to get drunk,” Kurata Ryoko said.
“Don’t mind her. We’re here to have fun, and I don’t want to spoil the mood,” Kamikawa Hiromi said, pouring herself a beer.
Suddenly, Kurata Ryoko noticed Masashi standing up.
“Masashi, where are you going? To the bathroom?” she asked.
Masashi didn’t respond immediately but simply said, “Who would come to a dance hall dressed in a funeral outfit to hit on men?” After saying this, he walked toward the woman’s location, leaving everyone confused.
“What do you want?” One of the men at the table looked up and asked as Masashi approached.
“This woman is my aunt. I’m here to take her home,” Masashi replied.
“What nonsense are you talking? You think we’ll believe you just because you say so? This woman is our friend, and I won’t let you take her away,” another man sneered.
“So she’s your friend? Fine, tell me her name. If you can, I’ll leave right now,” Masashi said lazily.
The two men were immediately speechless. One of them, embarrassed, stood up and shouted, “You little brat, this is none of your business. Get lost right now.”
Seeing the situation, the other man also stood up, looking ready to take action.
“What should we do? It looks like they’re about to fight Masashi. Let’s go over there quickly,” Kurata Ryoko said, standing up.
“What… what does it have to do with us? He’s the one who went over there,” Nishino Nagatoshi said, sounding a bit timid, glancing at the two large men.
“But he’s still our cousin,” Kurata Ryoko said with a glare at him before looking to the others.
To her disappointment, Nishino Nagahisa, Kamikawa Hiromi, and her boyfriend all looked equally hesitant.
“A bunch of useless people,” Kurata Ryoko thought angrily to herself as she ran toward Masashi alone.
After a few steps, she suddenly noticed two people had joined her—Aiko and Murashima. She felt deeply moved, and without thinking too much, she continued running toward Masashi.
However, before she could reach him, she suddenly heard two soft grunts from the men, who slumped into their chairs, unmoving. As she turned to look, she saw Masashi helping the woman walk toward them.
What just happened? Kurata Ryoko was completely confused.
But the two girls who had seen Masashi in action before knew that the two men had already been taken down by him.
“Oh, you’re here? Great, help me support her, but be careful she doesn’t throw up on you,” Masashi casually said as the three girls approached.
