Chapter 230: Passerby
by Potato“Lei, let me wash your back, okay?” Naoko looked at him with gentle affection while they were in the hot spring.
Lei Yin smiled and nodded, then turned around to lie on the edge of the hot spring with his back facing her. He casually grabbed a can of ice-cold beer from a wooden bucket and started drinking.
Naoko walked over and began to wipe his back with a towel, her movements delicate and soft.
“Lei.” After a while, Naoko suddenly spoke softly.
“What?” Lei Yin had his eyes slightly closed, enjoying the sensation of being warm outside but cool inside.
“Do you like children a lot?”
“Why do you say that?”
“When we were at the Takeda’s last time, you mentioned that having more kids in the courtyard would make it more lively, and you were also very good to Amy.”
Lei Yin smiled, “I didn’t expect you to remember my words so clearly. It’s not about liking or disliking; it’s just that having more kids around makes things livelier. But sometimes they can be noisy too, not all kids are as quiet and obedient as Amy. Why bring this up all of a sudden?”
Naoko was silent for a moment, then pressed her face against his back and whispered, “If you like them, I want to have a child for you.”
Lei Yin opened his eyes, a thoughtful look in them, and he remained silent for a long time.
The hot spring, with just the two of them, suddenly became very quiet.
After an unknown amount of time, Lei Yin slowly turned around and gazed deeply at her.
Reaching out his right hand to gently caress her left cheek, Lei Yin said softly, “I don’t want children. Having you is enough for me.”
Naoko’s body trembled slightly, and she lowered her head, whispering, “You… you already knew?”
He extended his left hand as well, pulling her gently into his embrace, and whispered into her hair, “Women with heart conditions, especially congenital ones, face risks nearly equivalent to suicide if they get pregnant. This isn’t just something only doctors know. You must be aware of this yourself. Naoko, I don’t want any children. I just want you to be safe and sound by my side.”
“Lei… am I a useless woman? I can’t even give you a child. When the doctor told me I could never have children in my life, I was so heartbroken. I really wanted to have a child for you…” Naoko said, crying and agitated.
Hearing her cries like the weeping of a begonia, Lei Yin felt a pang in his heart.
Lifting her face, he kissed her cherry lips passionately.
Naoko responded with equal fervor, her arms tightly around his neck, not caring if she might hurt her lips.
As they kissed passionately, Lei Yin parted Naoko’s legs and entered her body directly.
The moment he entered, Naoko’s whole body shivered.
Without any pause, once inside her, Lei Yin began to thrust vigorously into her delicate depths, the force and speed increasing with each moment.
“Ah…” As his intensity grew, Naoko couldn’t help but cry out.
Gradually, her long, white, beautiful legs wrapped tightly around his waist, almost suspending herself on him, bearing his storm-like assault.
The water in the hot spring splashed wildly due to Lei Yin’s intense movements. Amid the rising white steam, the sounds of Naoko’s breathtaking moans and rapid breaths filled the air.
After a while, overwhelmed by the intense pleasure that seemed to come in waves, Naoko’s skin flushed a deep red, her face so red it looked as if it could bleed. Sweat and tears mixed freely on her face. Her already sensitive body became even more so under Lei Yin’s aggressive advances, each thrust making her feel like she was on the brink of death. Her mind was blank, all her nerves focused on one point, causing this usually shy and reserved woman to unconsciously emit louder and louder cries of ecstasy without realizing it.
Watching Naoko, who was lost in extreme pleasure with her eyes tightly shut, Lei Yin, despite his vigorous movements, had a calm look in his eyes as he gazed tenderly at her flushed, beautiful face.
This silly girl.
A few minutes later, Naoko suddenly screamed out loud, her whole body convulsing violently, even her elegant toes curling up.
After the scream, her body went limp, collapsing onto her lover, unable to move.
Lei Yin kissed her flushed cheek, then embraced her, gently stroking her back.
After some tender moments, Lei Yin withdrew from her body, and even in her semi-conscious state, Naoko showed clear signs of reluctance.
Covering her with a bathrobe, Lei Yin carried her back to the room.
In the bathroom of the room, Lei Yin showered her with the showerhead. Naoko finally woke up languidly.
Once she was more awake, Lei Yin sat her on his lap and, holding her close, said, “Naoko, listen to me. For certain reasons, I don’t want children. Even if you could have them, my thoughts would remain the same. I’m not just saying this to comfort you; I mean it from the heart.”
Naoko looked at him with some surprise, “Is… is what you’re saying true?”
Lei Yin calmly met her gaze, “It’s true. I swear.”
Tears silently rolled down Naoko’s cheeks again as she pressed her head against his chest, sobbing. Her soft, fragrant body trembled lightly from time to time.
Lei Yin didn’t try to stop her but gently wiped the water from her body with a towel.
After drying her, he carried her back to the bedroom, placing her on the tatami mat’s sheets. Lying beside her, he propped his head up with his right hand, looking at her with tender, compassionate eyes.
Tears still seeped from Naoko’s eyes, but she paid them no mind, just staring at him intently.
Wiping away the tears at the corner of her eyes with his finger, Lei Yin took one of her delicate hands and placed it on his face, saying softly, “Don’t overthink things, okay?”
“Lei…” Naoko choked out, her tears flowing even more like an unchecked faucet.
“You, you’re truly made of water.” Lei Yin smiled, resting his head on the pillow and gently pulling her into his embrace.
Naoko pressed her head against his chest, her arms tightly wrapped around his waist, pulling her body as close to him as possible. Though her body was still weak and aching, she held him with all her might, as if letting go would make him disappear.
Not being able to bear children due to her heart condition had always been the shadow and source of her inferiority. She hadn’t dared to tell him the truth because she knew what not being able to have children meant for a woman. Although she believed he wouldn’t abandon her because of this, she still feared any change in their relationship.
For her, Lei Yin was her entire world. She had even considered breaking off her relationship with the father who had raised her for nearly two decades just to wait for him. For this reason, she had decided to risk her life to bear his child.
But he had told her he didn’t want children. At that moment, her muddled thoughts couldn’t distinguish if he was telling the truth or just comforting her; she only wanted to hold him tight.
Sensing her inner turmoil, Lei Yin kissed the top of her head and whispered in her ear, “Naoko, I love you. I promise, we will be together for life, until death do us part.” This was the second time in two years that Lei Yin had spoken these words.
Naoko’s body trembled, her grip slowly loosened, and the slight trembling of her body subsided.
“Listen, go to sleep, Naoko is very good.” Lei Yin whispered in her ear, like soothing a very young child to sleep.
Gradually, Naoko’s breathing became steady as she lay on his chest, her body completely relaxed, though her arms never let go of him.
Looking at her peaceful sleeping face, Lei Yin’s eyes were filled with affection.
His words about not wanting children were genuine, not just to comfort her.
Lei Yin, as an immortal being who has lived through many lives, always saw himself as a passerby. All the glories and riches of the human world were but fleeting clouds to him.
He had once, on a whim, challenged the heroes of the world with nothing but a blade in his hand and had done things others could barely imagine. But a passerby remains a passerby; decades or centuries later, when he is reborn, all he had done would be forgotten, leaving no trace.
As the saying goes, “Success or failure, fame or shame, all turn to dust; the green mountains remain, but the sun sets many times.” Centuries later, even the mountains might be leveled by humans, and only the setting sun would endure.
Since he was just a passerby, he did not want to leave any attachments, and children were the greatest attachment in his eyes. Therefore, throughout his numerous reincarnations, he had at most taken in a few disciples but never left any descendants.
Moreover, strictly speaking, except for the “first generation” Lei Yin, the offspring from other reincarnations were not truly his bloodline.
In this life, he only wanted to take good care of this beautiful woman who loved him deeply and those he cared about. Only with them could he temporarily forget his identity as a passerby.
