Chapter 264: Appointment
by PotatoWhen Tani Akiko saw Lei Yin beside Kuang Dao, her expression subtly changed.
This slight change, except for Lei Yin, who was also observing her, went unnoticed by Kuang Dao and Bibi.
“Uncle Kuang Dao, are you hurt?” Bibi asked, looking at him with concern, constantly inspecting him.
“Bullshit! Do you think those punks could hurt me?” Kuang Dao scoffed. “Hey, stop turning around.”
Seeing that he really didn’t seem injured, Bibi let out a sigh of relief. Then, looking at Lei Yin, she asked, “Uncle Kuang Dao, who is he?”
Kuang Dao glanced at Lei Yin. “He’s my arch-nemesis. One day, I’ll knock all his teeth out.”
“What’s an arch-nemesis?” Bibi asked, somewhat confused.
“An arch-nemesis is an arch-nemesis. If you don’t understand, go ask your teacher.”
“Ugh, you’re so dismissive,” Bibi pouted in dissatisfaction.
Hearing their conversation, Lei Yin smiled and walked over to Tani Akiko. “Hello, my name is Gennai Masashi, the person Kuang Dao has been looking for. Nice to meet you. May I ask your name, miss?”
Tani Akiko was taken aback for a moment, then a hint of gratitude flashed in her eyes. “My name is Tani Akiko, nice to meet you.”
It was as if they were genuinely meeting for the first time as they shook hands.
“Uncle Kuang Dao, what happened to those people?” Curious, Bibi stopped bickering with him and immediately grabbed his hand, asking.
“What do you think happened? They’re all lying on the ground. It’s a shame this guy got involved, otherwise, the fight would’ve been even more satisfying.”
“So, does that mean you two beat all those bad guys together?” Bibi looked at Lei Yin with curiosity. No matter how she looked at him, he didn’t seem like such a powerful person.
At this moment, Zhang Mingyu hurriedly entered from outside.
Seeing Lei Yin, he immediately walked over.
“What’s going on?” Seeing Zhang Mingyu’s anxious expression, Lei Yin asked in a low voice.
Kuang Dao thought someone was trying to challenge them again, so he immediately focused his attention on Zhang Mingyu.
Zhang Mingyu leaned in and whispered something into Lei Yin’s ear.
After hearing him out, Lei Yin smiled faintly and said, “This is such a big deal, it’s normal for the police to show up. Call Lawyer Wang and tell him to come over immediately. When he gets here, give him that contract, and he’ll help us handle things. By the way, did they ask you to go to the police station too?”
Zhang Mingyu nodded. “Yes.”
“Then let’s go with them. You just let Lawyer Wang know to go straight to the police station. But remember, don’t say a word until he arrives.”
“I understand.” Zhang Mingyu nodded, understanding the importance.
Upon hearing their conversation, Kuang Dao realized that it wasn’t someone challenging them, but rather the police had arrived, and he immediately lost interest in listening further.
Lei Yin turned to Tani Akiko and said, “We have some matters to attend to, please excuse us.” Then, he turned to Kuang Dao and said, “Old Kuang, the police want us to go give statements, you should come along too.”
Tani Akiko wasn’t sure if this man would return after giving his statement at the police station. Although she wanted to ask him, she wasn’t sure how to approach him. After all, they were only in a temporary employer-employee relationship, and now that he had found the person he was looking for, there was no reason for him to return.
Fortunately, Bibi spoke up for her, asking, “Uncle Kuang Dao, you’re still coming back to our house, right?”
Before Kuang Dao could respond, Lei Yin answered first. “Don’t worry, your Uncle Kuang Dao will come back, because I don’t intend to let him eat and live at my place for free. Of course, if he’s willing to help out here, that’s another matter.”
Kuang Dao angrily said, “Bullshit! Even if I have to beg for food, I won’t sell my life to this bastard.”
Lei Yin, with a faint smile, asked, “Oh? You want to back out?”
Kuang Dao gritted his teeth, “When did I say I want to back out? But everything depends on whether you win against me first.”
Lei Yin, not wanting to argue further, said, “Alright, stop talking nonsense, let’s go.” He then walked out with Zhang Mingyu.
As Kuang Dao was about to follow, Tani Akiko suddenly said, “Mr. Kuang Dao, if you need any help, please feel free to contact me.”
Kuang Dao glanced at her, then turned and left.
Tani Akiko stared blankly at his back.
At that moment, Bibi suddenly tugged at her mother’s hand and asked, “Mom, Uncle Kuang Dao will come back, right?”
Tani Akiko didn’t answer, but simply held her daughter’s hand tightly in return.

When Lei Yin returned to the apartment from the police station, it was around 10 PM.
As soon as he opened the door, he noticed a pair of small, women’s leather shoes by the entrance and knew that the little brat must have come again.
Walking into the living room, he saw Rumi curled up on the sofa, sleeping like a little cat.
Lei Yin walked over to the sofa and gently shook the sleeping girl.
“Rumi, wake up.”
After a short while, the girl slowly opened her eyes.
“Senior, you’re back,” she said, sitting up happily when she saw him.
Lei Yin asked, “Why haven’t you gone home? Today doesn’t seem like a practice day.”
The girl, slightly embarrassed, stuck out her little tongue and said, “I came here to help you clean, but I fell asleep without realizing it. Sorry.”
Lei Yin lightly tapped her forehead and said, “Kazumi must be worried sick about you. You’d better call her and let her know. By the way, have you eaten?”
The kendo girl nodded. “I ate before I came here. Kazumi knows I’m here. Senior, why have you been away from the apartment so often recently? I’ve come a few times and couldn’t find you.”
“Do you need something from me?” Lei Yin casually grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. He had been so busy preparing for the opening of China Town that he hadn’t been at the apartment much.
The girl’s face turned slightly red as she said, “Actually, it’s nothing, I just felt like it’s been a long time since I’ve seen you.”
Lei Yin smiled and stood up. “Alright, get up. I’ll send you back to the apartment.”
“Oh.” The girl obediently stood up and began to smooth out her slightly wrinkled clothes from sleeping.
Lei Yin seemed to remember something he had forgotten. He looked down and thought for a moment before recalling what it was.
“Wait a moment.” He walked over to the TV, crouched down, and opened a cabinet below. He then pulled out a bag from inside.
“This is for you. See if you like it.” Lei Yin handed her the bag.
The girl opened it curiously and found a box inside. When she opened the box, it revealed a very delicate and cute women’s mobile phone.
“Is this for me?” The girl looked at him, surprised.
Lei Yin nodded. “You’re in college now. It’s time for you to have a phone, so Kazumi can reach you when she needs to. I bought it a few days ago when I was at a mall. I should have taken you with me to pick it out, but I’ve been busy lately. So I asked that male shop assistant to help me choose one. Do you like it?”
After hearing this, Rumi, while admiring the phone, gently stroked its small body. After a while, she suddenly became excited and said, “Thank you, Senpai, I really like it.”
Lei Yin smiled. “I’m glad you like it. Let’s go, it’s getting late, I’ll send you back.”
The girl gave him a strange look but nodded.
As they walked along the road, Lei Yin couldn’t help but laugh when he saw her, like a child with a new toy, unable to put the phone down.
Seeing the smile at the corner of his mouth, the girl blushed slightly. Then, she tugged at his arm and coquettishly said, “Senior, don’t laugh at me.”
Looking at her innocent smile, Lei Yin couldn’t help but feel her joy. He reached out and pinched her cheek.
The girl’s face turned even redder. As she tightly held onto the phone, she leaned her head on his shoulder and whispered, “Senpai, it feels really strange. When I hold this phone, I suddenly feel like I’m already an adult.”
Lei Yin smiled and said, “But I feel like you haven’t changed at all. Except, now I don’t have to worry about food poisoning from eating your cooking. That’s a relief for me.”
The girl pouted in a mock scolding tone, “Senpai, you’re too mean. Always laughing at my past embarrassments.”
“Hey, I’m just stating facts. But,” Lei Yin suddenly stopped, facing her and saying, “Compared to the first time I met you, you really have grown up a lot.”
Looking at the warm smile in his eyes, the girl felt a sudden surge of emotion and almost wanted to cry.
But before she could process this strange feeling, Lei Yin suddenly said, “Rumi, how about we use your new phone to prank Kazumi and see how she reacts?”
Rumi was stunned for a moment. However, seeing the mischievous look in his eyes, she couldn’t help but smile playfully, as if ready to join in on the prank.
When they reached the apartment door, Lei Yin said, “If you need anything, just call my phone. Go inside now.”
“Senpai,” the girl suddenly called out as she saw him about to leave.
“What?”
The girl slowly walked up to him, then suddenly pointed at the sky, saying, “Senpai, look up there.”
Lei Yin, somewhat puzzled, looked up.
But just then, he felt a soft, mysterious sensation on his face.
The sensation felt both familiar and strange to him. When he lowered his head, slightly surprised, and looked at her, he saw that her face had turned as red as an apple. Despite her embarrassment, she smiled as best as she could and said, “This is a thank-you gift. Thank you, Senpai. Good night.” Then, like a startled rabbit, she quickly turned and ran into the apartment.
Still feeling the lingering softness on his face, Lei Yin stood there, his expression complicated as he looked at the apartment door, which the girl had swiftly closed.
On the other side, the girl, feeling as if she were fleeing from something, rushed back into the apartment. Her face felt like it was burning with embarrassment. In the darkness, she could hear her heart beating rapidly like a drum.
After a while, Kazumi, hearing some noise outside the hall, walked out of her room and asked, “Is that you, Rumi?”
The girl took a deep breath before answering, “Yes, I’m back.”
“Did brother send you back?”
“Yes, yes, he did.”
“What’s wrong? Your voice sounds a little strange.” Kazumi walked over to her.
As Kazumi reached her, the girl suddenly hugged her tightly.
“What happened?” Seeing her so agitated, Kazumi couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous.
The girl, her face still red, quietly told her what had just happened.
After hearing this, Kazumi smiled lightly and said, “It seems like our Rumi has really grown up.”
The girl pouted, “You too? Even you’re laughing at me.”
Kazumi smiled and gently stroked the girl’s long hair.
After a while, the girl suddenly whispered even softer, “Kazumi, actually… I wanted to kiss Senpai… his lips… but when his head moved up, I wasn’t tall enough, so I ended up kissing his face instead. Ah! I can’t say it anymore…” At this point, she buried her head deeply into Kazumi’s chest in embarrassment.
Hearing this, Kazumi could no longer hold back and laughed out loud.
After what seemed like an eternity, the girl finally calmed down. But her face still felt like it was burning with embarrassment.
Suddenly remembering something, the girl smiled and said, “Kazumi, did you get any phone calls just now?”
Kazumi, upon hearing this, replied irritably, “So those prank calls were your doing.”
Rumi suppressed her laughter and then pinched her nose, imitating the voice of Lei Yin when he had called earlier, saying, “Hello, could you deliver a pork rib meal? What? No? Do you have dumplings? Sorry, I dialed the wrong number, I thought this was a fast food place.” As she spoke, she mimicked hanging up the phone, then pinched her nose again and said, “Hello, could you deliver a pork rib meal? Ah, sorry, I dialed the wrong number again.”
“Hello, could you deliver a pork rib meal?”
Seeing that she was still enjoying the prank, Kazumi playfully but firmly tapped her on the head.
The girl giggled.

One week later, when Kazumi and Rumi were at Lei Yin’s apartment cleaning, the doorbell suddenly rang.
Kazumi opened the door to find a tall, rugged-looking man standing outside.
“Can I help you?” Kazumi asked, eyeing the stranger warily.
“Is Lei Yin living here?” the man asked.
“Sorry, there’s no one by that name here. You have the wrong address,” Kazumi replied coldly and began to close the door.
“Wrong address? How troublesome,” the man muttered, pulling out a card with an address and phone number written on it. After carefully checking the house number against the card, he rang the doorbell again.
When Kazumi opened the door once more, she saw the same man. With no change in expression, she asked, “What do you want?”
The man, slightly annoyed, said, “This address should be correct. I’m looking for Lei Yin. Where is he?”
“I told you, there’s no one by that name here. Please leave immediately,” Kazumi said, trying to shut the door again.
But the man blocked the door with his hand and muttered, “Wait, he has another name. Let me check.” After looking at the card again, he looked up and said, “I’m looking for Gennai Masashi.”
Although he had said her brother’s name correctly, Kazumi still felt wary of this stranger. “What do you want with him?”
“I’m here to challenge that bastard to a one-on-one fight,” the man said casually.
Kazumi furrowed her brow and, in a cold tone, replied, “There’s no one by that name here. You’re mistaken,” and she tried to close the door again.
Kuang Dao, though rough around the edges, was no fool. He could easily tell that the girl was lying. Frowning, he shouted, “Hey, little girl, I’ve got an appointment with that guy!”
Kazumi coldly responded, “I’ll say it again—if you don’t leave, I’ll call the police.”
Never having been scolded by a young girl before, Kuang Dao was furious and was about to curse her out.
But just then, a young male voice came from behind him: “Old Kuang, you’re really going downhill, wasting time arguing with a little girl.”
Kuang Dao turned around to see Lei Yin walking leisurely towards them.
“The bastard finally shows up,” Kuang Dao muttered. “I’ve been looking for you forever.”
Lei Yin, uninterested in responding, walked to the door and said, “Kazumi, open the door. This guy is the one I arranged to meet here.”
Kazumi opened the door and looked at Kuang Dao with a gaze that could hardly be described as friendly.
