The world is ever-changing. Just moments ago, the private room was filled with voices, yet now, only four people remained.

Madam Xu wiped away her tears, studied the white-robed man not far away for a while, then turned to the Void Emperor and softly asked, “Husband, may I stay a little longer? Will you accompany me to watch the rest of this hunt?”

Hearing this, the Void Emperor looked at Gu Ning’an and cupped his hands. “Mr. Gu, may I allow my wife to watch the rest of the hunt?”

“Why ask me? I’ve said before—you’re doing this for yourself, not for me.” As he spoke, Gu Ning’an stood up and walked toward the door. “I’ll go back to my seat and watch. After all, I paid for it.”

“Uh… this…” The Void Emperor was momentarily speechless as he watched Gu Ning’an leave.

Meanwhile, Madam Xu slightly bowed in the direction of Gu Ning’an’s departure. “Many thanks, Mr. Gu, for allowing me this moment…”

The atmosphere in the arena was electric as Duan Chen delivered wave after wave of spectacular performances.

The spectators shouted and cheered with such excitement that their faces turned red. Some were even so stirred up that they transformed into their beast forms, making the scene resemble a chaotic zoo.

As Gu Ning’an retraced his steps back to his seat, he noticed many spectators casting him strange glances. Their eyes widened in shock upon seeing the white-robed man, and even the previously deafening cheers quieted down significantly.

It was only after he passed by that the spectators began whispering among themselves.

“Look at that! That white-robed man actually came back unharmed. Has the Magistrate Wei had a change of heart?”

“No kidding! But that black-haired old man didn’t return. I bet he took the fall for him!”

“Well, that still counts as a change of heart for Magistrate Wei. When have you ever seen someone taken away by demon soldiers and come back in one piece this quickly?”

“Shh, keep it down! His Blaze Bug is looking this way…”

On Gu Ning’an’s shoulder, Doubao turned its head left and right like a searchlight, scanning the area. Wherever its gaze landed, the demon cultivators quickly shut their mouths, forcing awkward smiles.

As Gu Ning’an reached his row, the transformed demons immediately reverted to their human forms, stepping aside to clear a path for him.

To them, how Gu Ning’an had returned was unimportant. What mattered was avoiding any connection with him.

After all, who knew if Magistrate Wei would change his mind and come back to collect a few more people?

Upon settling back into his seat, Gu Ning’an immediately noticed that the space on both sides felt much larger. The spectators next to him had squeezed together, preferring to be crammed rather than sitting too close to him.

But Gu Ning’an didn’t mind at all. Neither did Doubao, who flew off his shoulder and landed directly in the Void Emperor’s previous seat.

Gu Ning’an shot it a glance, and Doubao grinned. “Sir said that if you pay for a seat, you shouldn’t waste it!”

“Fair enough.” Gu Ning’an chuckled and turned his attention back to the arena.

Nearby, the tiger demon who had previously tried to strike up a conversation with the Void Emperor was filled with curiosity. He kept sneaking glances at Gu Ning’an but didn’t dare approach.

He was desperate to know what kind of demon beast that black-haired old man had transformed from. It wasn’t just his cultivation—the sheer pressure of his bloodline alone had been enough to crush someone like him, the so-called “King of Beasts,” underfoot.

In the end, curiosity won over fear. The tiger demon cautiously edged closer to Doubao and whispered, “Blaze Bug! Blaze Bug!”

Doubao turned to him, puzzled. “My surname is Dou. What do you want?”

Since when did Blaze Bugs have names?

And why was this Blaze Bug so big? If it lit up, it could probably illuminate half the arena.

The tiger demon forced a smile and lowered his voice. “Doubug, tell me—where did that black-haired old man go?”

“I’m Dou, from the Blaze Bug clan,” Doubao said sternly.

    “Alright, alright!”

The tiger demon waved his hand and said, “Brother Dou, Fellow Daoist Dou, just tell me—what kind of demon beast was that black-haired old man?”

“I don’t know.” Doubao shook its head. Then, without hesitation, it did something that made the tiger demon regret ever asking—

It turned straight toward the white-robed man and loudly asked, “Mr. Gu! He wants to know what kind of demon beast the black-haired old man was!”

Feeling the gaze of the white-clad man upon him, along with the teasing looks from the surrounding spectators, the tiger demon wished he could slap himself twice!

He never expected this Blaze Bug, surnamed Dou, to directly ask the white-clad man—someone everyone wanted to avoid—without even a moment’s hesitation!

    “No, no, no!”

    “I didn’t ask! It wasn’t me!”

In a frantic denial, the tiger demon backed away repeatedly before turning around, squeezing through the crowd, and vanishing without a trace.

Seeing this, Doubao tilted his head. “Wow, he runs fast…”

    “Die, you old cur!”

A furious roar suddenly erupted, drawing everyone’s attention toward the arena!

In the battle ring, a disheveled swordsman in black hovered midair, his sword flashing with brilliant light as he slashed down at the monstrous hound below—one with nine pairs of eyes!

The sword light struck, instantly reducing the Multi-Eyed Demon Hound to a mist of blood before crashing into the rocky ground with a thunderous boom. The entire arena trembled from the impact.

A moment later, accompanied by a series of crackling sounds, a massive fissure split across the battlefield, stretching from north to south!

The crowd fell into a stunned silence—so quiet that even a pin drop could be heard.

Almost everyone watching had assumed that Duan Chen was at his limit, on the verge of being slain by the Multi-Eyed Demon Hound.

Yet, against all expectations, this obscure swordsman of the demon race unleashed such a terrifying final strike, turning the battle around in an instant!

After several heartbeats of stunned silence, the arena erupted once more into deafening cheers!

In the demon world, strength is revered above all. Duan Chen’s display of power had thoroughly convinced the audience.

Most spectators were now cheering him on, eager to witness a magnificent reversal…

However, Duan Chen seemed tired of “acting.” In the following two matches, against two rather formidable demon cultivators, he ended each fight in just over a hundred moves—slaying both opponents with ease.

Ten battles in the ring—he had reached the final round.

If the black-clad swordsman won this last match, his team would become the first in the history of the arena to achieve a clean sweep!

The host, Ying Xiang, delivered a passionate speech before waving his hand grandly, summoning the final challenger on Hua Erniang’s side.

As this final defender stepped out of the shadows, the expressions of the spectators froze, and a shared look of confusion flickered in their eyes…
